Just in case you’ve never seen one, a whoopee pie is two soft cake like cookies, with a cream filling in between. The Amish in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania make them with chocolate cookies or pumpkin cookies.

This gourmet dog treat version has icing on top. And the ingredients used are quite interesting (and healthy): Light Rye Flour, Dark Rye Flour, Spelt, Molasses, Cannola Oil, Water, Baking Powder, Powdered Sugar, Carob, Water, All Natural Colors: made with fruits and vegetables.

If your dog has canine allergies, she might be able to eat these whoopee pies, as they contain no corn, wheat or soy products.
